How to Structure an Essay - Tips to Make Essay Writing Feel Less Overwhelming!

Always begin an essay with an introduction, but be careful not to write too much too soon, an introduction is usually between five and six good, relevant sentences. Though of course write more if you feel more is needed!

Introduce the topic of your essay (which could be done by simply rephrasing the title/essay question) and briefly outline the points you wish to raise.

Be careful not to include any concluding remarks, leave comments unbiased and open-ended.
Main Body

Split the main body of your essay into clear paragraphs. One relevant point to answering your essay question per paragraph.

Each paragraph should essentially have a couple of sentences explaining your point, and then some factual knowledge included, to back up what you have written so far and to prove that you have done some research and know what you are writing about!

Try to make a link back to the essay title/question. This shows the marker that you are giving a good answer and also keeps the question clear in your own mind. (it is so easy miss out on marks by writing down everything you know on the subject when it isn't actually relevant to answering the question.)

As you become more confident in essay writing, you can get more marks by making brief links between points. Briefly mention in one sentence how one point you are considering in your essay influences/affects another point.

You should aim to have three or four paragraphs for the main body of your essay.

A very important aspect to an essay is a conclusion.

If you are running out of time when writing an essay in say an exam, it would be better to cut out some of the maybe less relevant points you wish to make, and make sure you get a good conclusion written.

Try to keep your conclusion as concise as possible. Mention each of the points raised in the main body of the essay and highlight the similarities and contrasts between them.

Make your own judgment on which point you believe is the most important/relevant to the question and which you believe is the least important/relevant and then explain why!

By doing this you have shown that you have researched different points to the question, shown factual knowledge and then come to your own conclusion.

Just be careful not to write anything new that you haven't mentioned in your essay in the conclusion!

No Nonsense Way to Easy Essay Writing

Writing essays (or articles, if you prefer) should not be a difficult or arduous task. Rather it should be pleasurable outpouring of your position on an issue; an expression of your strong feelings about a current event; an exposition on a topic on which you have done some significant research; or maybe just sharing a particular point of view on something you have some real interest in.

This article is a reflection of something that I have been interested in for an extended period of time - writing essays. Essay writing from my point of view is an explanation of how to do a task as well as the importance of the task from a personal perspective.

As an independent consultant the writings I often do include writing reports, designing programs, evaluating programs, and developing proposals to acquire grant moneys along with other types of highly technical writing. Essay writing then is a release from that type of demanding writing. As I write this, I am experiencing a release from my normal and typical writing directly associated with making a living.

Essay writing, simplified, can be broken down into eight specific tasks:

1. Identify the substance of what you want to write about.

2. Work on the title of the essay. The title is extremely important. It will determine whether or not someone actually decides to read your essay. Make the title a catchy and intriguing one.

3. Develop a strong lead paragraph. This is important because, after the title, the paragraph must make the reader wants to further explore what you have to say.

4. Keep your main points you want to make to no less than three and no more than nine. Two are too few. Ten are too many.

5. Support each of your points with facts and data. If you choose to quote a so-called expert, keep it to a minimum. The important thing is to make sure that your facts and data are from reputable sources.

6. Keep your sentences short and concise. Write in the active voice. And, write to the reader. Let the reader know that you are talking to him or her.

7. Use bullet points if they are appropriate to your essay and avoid jargon unless you are willing to explain what it means.

8. Conclude your essay with a summary of your main points or a simplified restatement of the essence of your essay.

There it is. Essay writing should be a release. Consider it to be therapeutic and have fun doing so.

Custom College Essay Writing - Should You Buy Essays Over The Internet?

Custom College Essay Writing services are extensively available over the Internet now days. Every time you browse through the Web, you will come across a new web portal that is selling and promoting essays to unwary college students all around the globe. As a matter of fact, all of these companies are disreputable, illegitimate and doing their consumers a major disservice and hurting them in the long run.

Wondering why buying an essay online is a bad idea? Continue reading for the answer to your question.

First and foremost, you need to determine where these online, Custom College Essay writing services acquire their essays from. Even though, most such companies will try to convince you that they are simply generating these essays through a professional and competent team of writers. On the contrary, most of these custom college essay writing services outsource their writing jobs to various countries such as India, Pakistan and Bangladesh, among many others. Just think about it, someone who has no technical or in depth knowledge of your subject, living in India or Bangladesh, is being paid a few dollars per hour to write your paper.

Now you're probably wondering what's so bad about opting for an essay that was created in a foreign country? In addition to the apparent waste of an opportunity to rise academically, as well as the obvious waste of your college training, a paper written by someone else living in another part of the world simply cannot reflect the your skills and knowledge of the subject matter, nor can it live up to your teacher's expectations. There are quite a few, good writers out there, but most of these companies don't hire them because they usually charge a lot more for academic papers.

In fact, most of the custom college essay writing services will provide you with a paper that is recycled from a previously composed piece done for some other customer. In the same manner, some of the essays are even reproduced over the Internet and it becomes a lot easier for an instructor to find out that it was copied and is plagiarized.

College instructors have enough experience to identify plagiarized essays from their students and can also deduce whether it was done by them, or whether they had someone else do it for them. It is not that hard to do for them, because they know how you speak and write through the other stuff you've submitted and sometimes it is exceedingly evident. As a student, you should think about this at least thrice before you consider making such a tremendous mistake. The next time you are thinking about skipping one of your assignments and looking for an essay that is on sale over the Internet, think long and hard about how you are wasting your college fee. Not only are you wasting your money, you are also showing that your academic education was a complete waste of time as well, not to mention what would happen if you got caught.

Sure, writing your own paper sounds boring and that party would really be a lot more fun, but at the end of the day, that party won't really help you get a good grade so why not implement what you've learned?

Understanding Essay Writing

The term essay is derived from the French word 'essai', which means 'weighing' or 'balancing'. The exponent of this genre was also a French writer, named Montaigne. Essay traveled to England in the 16th century and got perfection with the endeavors of Francis bacon, the father of English essay. The essay in English means 'attempt'. The writing of essay is an art. Unlike poetry, it is not a gift of nature. Essayists are not born but made; poets are born. Hence the art of essay writing can be acquired. Like all the other arts, essay writing too requires practice. However, good language skills, proficiency in structuring of sentences, grammatical accuracy, and rich vocabulary are the prerequisites of undertaking the business of essay writing.

When a good command over the language is achieved, half the battle is won. Since, we know that the style is the soul of essay, it requires sharpening. Systematic practice and sustained labor make an essayist perfect. The more one writes, the more the prose style shines. The modern style of essay is deemed to be simple, lucid, pointed and straightforward.

Short words and sentences are more effective than long constructions. A forceful and effective diction is advised to be developed in order to master the prose style. The following points would prove helpful in the practice of essay writing.

First and foremost, think over the topic on which you have to attempt your essay.

Systematize your ideas prior to expressing them in your essay, i.e., make the outline either on paper or in your mind. It is required in the beginning for a beginner's loose sally of mind is very likely to lose the very rationale of the attempt. Only after attaining command over style, can one's essay be 'dispersed meditation'.

The impersonal type of essay, alone, should be attempted first. Only after considerable practice, when one's own style is shaped, subjected or personal essays are advised to be taken up.

Verbosity is detrimental to clarity. Hence superfluous words and expressions should be avoided.

Direct expression and active voice construction are preferable to digression and passive expression.

Complex sentences and hotchpotch of ideas mar effectiveness and precision. One idea must be expressed in a single paragraph.

Thus, if you want to become an essayist of note, master your language first and make your model any modern essayist, who is deemed to have mastered the prose style.

Three Tips for Persuasive Essay Writing

As you know, there are several different styles of essays that you may be asked to write throughout your academic career. One of these is a persuasive essay. And for those of us that have not much experience writing this particular style, It can be quite difficult at first. However, there are certain things you can do to make persuasive essay writing easier and perhaps faster. Consider for a moment that at some point we have all had to write an argumentative piece, even when we did not realize this is what we were doing.

Something else you may want to think about when it comes to persuasive essay writing is that it does not have to be as difficult as you may make it seem. Consider for a moment that the style of writing is quite simply an extension of the research essay. In both, you need to take a particular topic and gather research on and then write your paper. In a persuasive essay, you are arguing a particular viewpoint whether it be your own or a side that you have been assigned. As such, the first tip to consider is that you need to ensure that your research is adequate. After all, you cannot write a persuasive essay if you have not done your research to the issue at hand.

Persuasive essay writing also requires that you study both sides of a given topic before you commence writing. The reason for this is that while good research is one of the main things you need to do in the style of essay, you also need to be able to completely understand the other side logic and arguments, so that you can see where they are gaps of logic why and use them to your advantage. In short, you need to be able to properly analyze the entire issue from a variety of angles before you write.

One final tip to consider is that persuasive essay writing in fact allows you to put more of your own voice into your paper whereas a research paper does not. In short, this will make your paper that much more interesting to read and more fun to write. So the next time you are concerned about the style of essay, just remember that you are able to write in your own voice to a certain degree.6

Essay Writing Tips - How to Make a Good Essay Writing

Writing is a creative endeavor that follows some set of rules. When you are writing, you can play around with these rules and there is nothing wrong with that for as long as it works. Actually, what people want when they read is to be amused, touched, or learn something. However, when you are doing essay writing for your education, you are not suppose to bend the rules too much. Your writing need not be a masterpiece, but it has to be an enjoyable read.

Too often, essay writing is at its best if made personal. However, that is not always the case as it will depend on the subject matter and what your teacher or professor requires. On the other hand, if your teacher or professor struggles with unfamiliar words and impersonal anecdotes while reading your essay, they may not mark it with a favorable grade when they are done reading, even if all you stated there are facts.

One thing you need to do to come up with a good essay writing is to spell it right. With the existence of word processors having spell check features, nowadays; there is no excuse for bad spelling. Essay Writing Explained

Essays are personal. They allow writers to open up and share their individual ideals, opinions and aspirations with their readers. For this reason, essay writing, is more contemplative and less fact driven. Of course, you could write an essay on a factual subject, but it would still be a biased work. It is that personal bias allowed within the context of the essay that makes it a unique and wonderful vehicle for the writer to explore and share some of the deeper and more profound aspects of their skill.

Writing an essay can take some people fifteen minutes. Others may require days or weeks. The level of the writer's skill and their ability to express the ideas that they wish to share with their reader using proper grammar and punctuation are determining factors in the time spent putting an essay together. Often writers will release short books filled with their essays. These authors, known popularly as "essayists" specialize in the composing of compelling written works that are infused with their selves and their ideas. Though not as popular in today's writing market, books of essays by persons with something to say continue to fill the shelves of bookstores, inviting the reader to glimpse into another person's mind.

Essay writing can be as simple as a short treatise on the preservation of a neighborhood green-space that is circulated to drum up support for the cause. It can be as complex as the candid comments of a retired political leader about their role in a now overthrown corrupt government. Unlike articles, written by a third party and basing themselves on the facts of the matters, essays give the reader insights that can only come from the author's personal perspective.

Essay writing can be a rewarding exercise in the writer's craft. Though essays seldom find publication outside of those rare books of collected essays, they do find a place in some magazines and literary publications. And no grade-schooler will ever be able to pass their grammar and composition courses without enduring, and perhaps enjoying, the art of essay writing.

Why is Understanding the Essay Writing Process So Problematic?

In looking to assist you with the development of your own work I thought it may be beneficial to give you a taste of my own book with this edited extract that I have been distributing to students for the last couple of months to further your understanding of the essay writing process (please see the bottom of this article for further details). With this in mind, I feel it is important to begin by saying that, as anyone working in this area will tell you, just as there are many different educational institutes throughout the world, there are also several different lines of thought regarding coursework/examination writing skills that are so integral for students of all ages to learn to then be able to effectively illustrate their own level of knowledge and proficiency in a particular subject. However, the problem is that not everyone shares my point of view in looking to effectively further your education in the best possible way for you to then be able to achieve what you are capable of through the essay writing process.

Unfortunately, despite the weight given to writing skills for exams and coursework assessments, there are still those working in the academic field that believe this kind of writing is little more than an instinctive process where you either know how to do it or you do not with no room for anything more than minor improvements. All too many teachers still seem stuck on the idea you are either born with the ability to write wonderful works of academic brilliance or that there is little hope for you as the whole process fills you with a sense of anguish and dread when it comes to starting the essay writing process.

That such a view has arisen has only been further exacerbated by the fact all too many teachers believe that all that is necessary to teach someone how to write an assessment is to show you examples of former students' work for you to pick-up their techniques. Unfortunately, however, the reality of such an approach is that, whilst this may occasionally work for the brightest amongst you, it is really little more than a fool's errand for effective essay writing. This is because without any real explanation of the steps taken to produce such work in the first place there is little hope of most students absorbing this information for essay writing because your teachers fail to tell you important things like -

(a) How was the work researched?
(b) What search terms did they use and why?
(c) How did they plan their work?
(d) What influenced their approach?
(e) What actually made the work so good?
(f) How long did it take them to write it?
(g) Did they draft it first?

If you read a book like 'Harry Potter', does that mean your are automatically able to write something of equal brilliance to capture the world's heart so completely?

Could you suddenly write like Dan Brown if you read 'The Da Vinci Code'?

Of course there is no denying it is a wonderful thought that you might be able to learn to write in the same way simply by reading someone else's work. However, whilst you may be inspired by what you read, the reality is that unless you have learned some discernible skills already in this area and have some notable creative ability then it is likely that what you produce will be little more than a poor imitation that ultimately leads you to nothing more than disappointment from your essay writing process. Therefore, those that believe this kind of academic writing is little more than an instinctive process are fundamentally flawed in their thinking because this line of thought implies essay writing skills are like 'superpowers' that very few are blessed with!

However, all too many teachers believe that all that is necessary to teach someone how to write an assessment is to show you examples of former students' work for you to pick-up their techniques the second could be looked upon as being little more than tantamount to giving someone a fish for the day, rather than showing them how to fish for life. Such a view has arisen in view of the fact that it is arguable that there is no real learning or explanation of how to approach studying - particularly at the higher levels. Instead it is believed - rightly or wrongly - that the further you progress in your studies as a student, the more it is expected that you should automatically have the necessary skills to succeed with little thought for those that do not since the further you go in your education, the more teaching time is taken up with learning the subject itself because of the sheer amount that staff have to get you through in your studies to the detriment of your essay writing.

Nevertheless, there is also a third line of thought that proposes the more practice you get the better your writing will become (which is perfectly agreeable), the reality of this understanding is still somewhat limited for good essay writing. This is because, in view of the many pressures that have been placed upon students and teachers the further they go in the education process, not everyone has the time or inclination to write (or encourage the writing of) innumerable papers to improve their practical writing skills or, if they do, someone qualified to gauge their level of improvement in effective essay writing. Matters have also not been helped, however, by the fact that there is still all too often too little tangible help available to you to allow you to make the strides forward that you want regarding your essay writing. Moreover, even where help is available, many people feel that there is a stigma attached to seeking help with your studies and a sense of embarrassment or even shame at needing it with their essay writing which is something that you should never feel -

Therefore, if you would like a great deal more information and support in this regard then you can find it in the form of my own e-journal 'The Secret Guide To Academic Writing & Study' that I produced myself and am currently distributing to students like you at a remarkably inexpensive one-off price through my website at []

History Essay Writing - How to Write a Historical Essay

History essay writing is somewhat tricky for one very important reason - history is really not about dates and names and places. A good college history essay should take the issues of a history class and represent them in an interesting way. After all, history is all about telling stories and telling them in new and interesting ways.

I always tell my writing students that a good college essay should be argumentative or persuasive in nature. The job of a college writer is to present an issue in a new and interesting way - not to simply rehash information.

This is the biggest mistake student writers make in history essay writing!

You should never approach a historical essay as though the "facts" are most important to the reader. Facts alone are worthless. The question lurking for your audience (especially your professor - an expert in history writing) is, "what do the facts mean?"

For example: you would never want to write what I like to call the George Washington essay. This is an essay that simply recounts the first G.W.'s life and times. We call this a biographical essay. Trust me: this is the last thing your instructor wants to see.

Your job is to take the life of George Washington and make it interesting. In other words, you need to say something unique about the first president's existence and make an argument or take a new interpretation of the facts.

Information on its own is very boring. The job of a good writer is to take everyday information and transform it into something unique. Most beginning writers struggle with this part of the essay writing process. It can be quite challenging to both present accurate information and look at it in a new way. Of course, every college writer needs to spend time in the writing process on every essay to get the best results.

A Guide to the Intricacies of Essay Writing

Essay writing is a piece that serves as an instrument to express an opinion or a point-of-view. But writing an essay is not as easy as it seems. It's not just words that formed instantly. It's not just merely writing it all down. It entails a lot of hard work, logic, and technique.

An essay writer needs to consider a lot of factors like grammar, congruity and consistency. The process of writing starts with a muddled set of ideas waiting to be written in a blank sheet. With persistence and cautious in following the rules of composition, there comes a quality and coherent essay.

Learning the dos and don'ts in essay writing is a must. Here are some useful techniques that serve as guide in the intricacies of writing an essay.

o Choose a suitable design and hold to it.

Writing, to be effective, must follow a basic structural design. This calls for a scheme of procedure. A writer must perceive the shape of the article before it is written. The skeleton of the essay is its design determines the chronology of thoughts that the writer think suits the paper.

o Use the active voice.

This doesn't mean that the writer should totally discard the passive voice. But writing in active voice is more direct and vigorous. Usually, using active voice makes the statement more concise.

o Use definite, specific, concrete language.

This is the surest way to arouse and hold the reader's attention. Be specific to the general, definite to the vague, and concrete to the abstract. Instead of saying "A period of bad weather," prefer "It rained every day for two weeks."

o Omit needless words

Dynamic writing is concise. In writing, every sentence should not contain any unnecessary word or phrase.

o Keep related words together

The positioning of words is vital in showing coherence. Bad placements of words will result to ambiguity and confusion.

o Keep to one tense

This rule is also for cohesiveness. Stick to one tense unless it is necessary in the article to adopt two or more.

o Have a catchy introduction

Having an interesting introduction will grab reader's attention and will persuade them to finish the article. Any essay writer must consider a catchy introduction using different writing techniques.

o Edit

An impeccably written essay is only possible through successive revisions and continuous editing.

With all these guidelines to consider essay writing is indeed vigorous. It requires a lot of persistence and patience from the writer. Essays are not just opinions written on a paper - they are sensible and logical.

College Essay Writing Tips

Aside from your high school grades and SAT score, your college essay will have a large bearing on your approval.

Your high school record may not be spotless, with a few Ds or even an F scattered over the transcript. These records are permanent and totally out of your control. The same goes if you did not ace your SAT. While it may be unfortunate if you are applying for a college, it happens to many students and it is normal. It will affect your application but it does not necessarily ruin it. You still have a shot with your college essay,

Your college essay will hold out the rest of your application. Take time to write a compelling essay that will help you stand out from a hundred hopefuls. It is your one chance to show the admission board why you deserve a slot.

Your essay should show the admission board the person behind the As or Ds. It should allow them not just a glimpse, but also a complete understanding of your personality, values, aspirations, and your commitment.

But do not confuse your college essay with a resume or an autobiography. Listing down your accomplishments and honors in high school does not automatically equal a good college essay. Here are a few tips to help you come up with a readable and effective essay.

* Write it yourself. Having someone else write it for you will not be a good idea. A good essay should carry your voice - not your dad's or your uncle's. Remember: the biggest crime in writing college essays is trying to sound like a 40-something professional when you are only 17.

* Do not write to impress, write to express. Do not inflate your accomplishments. Writing about what you think the admission staff wants to hear is not a good idea either. Talking about the current political situation will not be as interesting as your own experiences. Write about what you know by heart.

* Be specific. Avoid general statements, clich├ęs, and predictable writing. Instead, use specific details in describing your experiences or articulating your ideas.

* Inject passion and creativity into your work to avoid a boring, monotonous tone. Show intellectual curiosity and knowledge with a blend of creativity. Talk about your passion for your career choice. The admission officer will be reading your essay from the hundreds or thousands of others. At the end of the day, what t he will remember is the one that moved him with infectious passion and youthful enthusiasm.

* Organize your essay. It is important to have your point reflected in an interesting introduction, a clear body and a sealed conclusion.

* Proofread. There is no room for typos and grammatical errors in your essays. Read and re-read your work until you are satisfied with it. Then have someone else read it just to be on the safe side.

How To Make Essay Writing Interesting For Kids?

My eight year old is a fiend. She read To Kill a Mockingbird in an afternoon and right now she's breezing through Chekhov. She types over 90 words per minute and sometimes writes up to twelve or fourteen pages a day. She lives and breathes reading and writing and can't understand why everyone doesn't feel this way.

Still, when I mention the word 'essay' she recoils in horror. Up until last month, that is. Getting Adora to write has always been about as easy as getting ----to-----. When children thinking of writing as a form of entertainment they begin to write on their own initiative. However, when it came to essays, I had to get sneaky. To give you some idea of my far she has written 'All Day Candy Eating: the Pros and Cons', 'Taking Back the Power: Why Kids Should Have the Vote and Adults Shouldn't' and 'Why I Hate Fairytales'.

I think she had envisioned essay writing as some Draconian horror along the lines of the book report. My goal was to teach her to think of essay writing as what it really is: the world's best way to lay down an argument.

Adora, like most people, does her best writing when she's really interested in something, or when she's writing for herself or the people she loves most. Every time I told her to write an essay for class she'd come off sounding dull and drab, miles away from her normal vivacious and mischievous tone.

I decided there was no way she could be dull and drab when writing about one of her obsessions, so we switched gears away from the literary essay and settled on what really counts in the minds of most eight year olds: candy. As suspected, Adora found it impossible to be stiff when writing about candy. Her enthusiasm picked up like a good sugar high, and pretty soon the words were pouring out.

When she was done I broke the news: she'd written an essay and enjoyed it. Since then I've tried to broaden her understanding of the concept, pointing out that David Sedaris and Dave Barry are also essay writers, and likening essay writing to arguing, always a favorite pursuit.

Here are three simple tactics for getting kids to think of essay writing as something vital, and a form of entertainment.

If your kids complain about a household rule or request a new gadget, tell them to put it in writing. Have them state their case, giving all the reasons why they are right. In this way they will be practicing the fundamentals of essay writing in a relevant, and possibly rewarding, way.
If your kids are angry or upset with you, a sibling, or a teacher, ask them to write about it, explaining exactly what happened, why they think it's unfair etc.

When they are first starting out, don't stress organization too much. Wait until they have begun to enjoy the writing process before cracking down on errors.

Although we started out silly, Adora has lost her fear of essays and now approaches them with the same zeal she has for fiction and poetry. Now that she has overcome her prejudice she is showing an interest for more academic topics. I'm happy about this, though I sometimes wonder about the wisdom of teaching your children more effective arguing tactics. This may come back to haunt me in her teenage years.....

Joyce Svitak is the co-author of Flying Fingers--Master the tools of learning through the joy of writing Her daughter Adora Svitak published the book at age seven, since then, the book has been translated into Chinese, Korea. It will have a new edition in UK this fall. Adora has toured many schools to present her writing workshop. Please visit her website at for more info.

5 Essay Writing Tips for Quick Results

Here are five quick essay writing tips you can use right away to boost your essay and term paper grades.

Essay Writing Tip 1. Avoid the Repetition of The Same Words As Much As You Can

Consider these sentences:

"Use Active Voice - Avoid Passive Voice."

"Use Active Voice - Don't Use Passive Voice."

Which version is better?

The first one. Why? Because it avoids repeating the word "use." Catch these little repetitions and try to replace them with a synonym, or just rewrite the sentence to make it diverse. This shows that the writer has a sense of style and class. Try it, and your grade will go up.

Essay Writing Tip 2. Use Vivid, Colorful Examples

Do you want your writing to stand out above the crowd? Begin using some specific examples in your writing. So few students do it - it's amazing! College essays tend to be very general. The most specific evidence usually used is some statistics.

Instead of (or in addition to) describing the behavior of thousands or millions of people, take an example of just one person and write it out. Use some colors; make it vivid; describe the sounds and smells. Trust me, if you do just that and don't follow the rest of the advice I give here, your writing will go a long way, and, again, so will your GPA.

Examples will help you build volume AND make your essays and term papers more interesting and exciting to read.

Essay Writing Tip 3. Don't Use Overuse Quotes

I don't know if this is surprising to you or not, but sometimes as much as 70% of a given paper consists of quotations. Come on, your professor is not stupid. He can see right through such attempts to disguise the lack of things to say behind other people's thoughts. You are intelligent and talented. You have your own things to say. So, say them - in your own language. Sometimes I like to avoid quoting altogether - I don't always need it. This also means that I don't have to look for them on the Internet, which takes time and effort.

Essay Writing Tip 4. Be Sincere Whenever You Can

If you care at all about the subject you're writing about (which isn't always the case), just be sincere. Don't be afraid to be judged on the political or social statement that you're making. You probably don't want to offend anyone, let me make that clear. But don't worry that your professor will lower your grade just because your opinion differs from his.

First of all, you probably don't even know what your professor really thinks about a certain subject. Second, most likely, he doesn't care about your political or other views. He should and most likely will judge your essay solely on its academic merit. And most importantly, if you write what you really feel, you will have more fun writing the essay, and it will be of better quality, for sure.

Essay Writing Tip 5. Talk To Your Professor

Before even writing your first essay assignment, approach your professor at the end of class and ask her about his expectations from the students' essays. Some of the questions to ask are:

What are two or three most important things in an essay, in your opinion?
Do you require that I write an introduction and a conclusion?
What is the biggest no-no that could drive my grade down a lot?
And then just listen and follow the recommendations to the best of your ability. Also, asking your professor this kind of questions shows him that you care. You can't lose.

Narrative Essay Writing Help

Those who have devoted themselves to essay writing know how difficult it can be sometimes to choose the correct style of expressing the thoughts. Depending on topic and the main aim of an essay it can be written in a narrative, descriptive style or, for example, a discussion. Every style demands following its own rules of composing, such as manner, vocabulary, literary devices and so on. Each of the rules seems simple at first sight, but using them all in harmony can create needed atmosphere of an essay, and as a result a reader will easily apprehend everything what the author wanted to give him.

To learn main rules how to write such kind of essay as narrative, one needs first to understand what kind of essay this is. Well, a narrative essay is a story. This can be a made-up story, a usual occurrence from someone's life, not only the author's; anyway every narrative story is based on personal experience, and this is something important to remember. Like every story that is connected with events a narrative essay must have a plot. Any qualitative plot includes its start, climax and ending; they have to be dynamical and intriguing, but not too swift. Let readers taste every moment of it. There is no situation without lesson learned; a couple of last sentences must be devoted to the main idea (the point) or the attitude of characters to the situation.

It's rather important to concentrate on details in a story. A narrative essay is not a deep thought about destiny of mankind; daily life is full of small things and trifles that we notice out of the corner of our eye. For creating correct atmosphere of a story one should emphasize its images. A slot of an essay has to be interesting, words, especially verbs, should be bright. Don't be afraid to express dynamism and strong emotions. Every little detail of a story makes it resembling to reality.

It is better to write a narrative essay from the first person (I), but writing from the third person (he, she) is also allowed. Using the first person in a story makes it easier to underline thoughts and conclusions of a character; in such a case, it's also better to show doubts, delights or associations. Dialogues are welcome if appropriate. One should think about speaking and acting manner of one's characters; it's rather funny when little children discuss like adults or working people use academician's vocabulary. These also are details that should be paid attention at. Each person of an essay has to look original, with his/her own special features.

All those advices were straight relative to writing rules. But one should never forget that the very first step in writing is choosing the topic. First of all, the author has to know brilliantly what he/she is writing about. Then, it's very important to create correct atmosphere of an essay: dynamic plot, intrigue, attention to details, ability to make some good point of the whole story. All this is impossible to do when the author can't dive into his creation by himself. Lively interest, knowing features of the situation described, putting oneself on a readers' place and writing according to their tastes - these are first conditions of creating a qualitative essay.

Nowadays, lots of books and Internet sites give us help and detail advices how to write narrative essay of different types. We can look though examples, choose interesting topics and develop our writing skills in front of monitors. Three things are never to forget in a narrative essay: 1) knowing the subject; 2) a plot with some point; 3) concentrating of dynamism of a story. If try, everything will go wonderful one day.

Essay Writing Tips - 6 Ways to Write a Great Essay

If writing an essay is a daunting experience, grasping easy methods to break up the procedure into several simple actions provides you with the self confidence you need to develop a fascinating, high quality piece of work. This information supplies a few essay writing tips that will get you from a primary thought right through to the finished product.

1.Select your subject cautiously

If your topic has many different elements, then a very useful essay writing tip may be to narrow it down to a particular distinct area, and make sure you actually demonstrate that within your introduction. This makes for much better reading than if you try to include everything, and will without a doubt strengthen the caliber of your work. If you choose your own subject, make it a thing you have an interest in. Using this method the research will not be as difficult and your enthusiasm will 'rub off' on your readers.

2.Seek your subject information

A different practical essay writing tip is to make sure you commit enough time for evaluating all of the areas of your preferred subject matter. Study as much appropriate material as you possibly can, and generate notes along the way so that you don't forget anything. At the same time note down where you've gotten your concepts from; i.e. author name, publication and / or document title and page number.

3.Write Down the chief Arguments

Once you've reviewed your subject, summarize the most crucial arguments and concepts you may have read. Don't duplicate the other party's words, just choose the essential issues and sum up all these in one's own words and phrases. That is a vital essay writing tip - whatever you do, be sure to don't plagiarise another author's work.Prepare the basic structure of the essay in dot point titles, making use of just a few words to describe every principal point. Experiment with the framework until you feel that the succession is correct. Place the main point first, followed by the subsequent most important point, et cetera. After that paste your research summaries under every heading (you can remove all these later on).

4.Complete the Body of the Essay

This is how you talk about in detail your ideas and thoughts about the chosen subject matter, and 'fill out' the summaries you wrote earlier. Underneath every primary point, bring in evidence supporting your notions, together with justifications and any other points you want to come up with. An excellent essay writing tip is actually to ensure these are thought provoking and intriguing, as well as informative.Conclude every section or segment with some type of 'bottom line', or 'lead in' sentence to the subsequent section. Now that you've got composed the primary body of the essay, you can go back to creating the 'Introduction', and then the 'Conclusion'.

5.Compose The Introduction

In certain ways this is the most important element of your composition. Probably one of the greatest essay writing tips is to apply your introduction to snatch the reader's curiosity and present them with a 'taste' of the info to come which will make them want to proceed with reading the whole document.Describe in brief just what your composition concerns, as well as your research sources, and make clear just what reader should get from perusing the essay. Complete the introduction using a very clear description of the viewpoint, or of the key essay concept.

6.Prepare The Conclusions

Begin this section by quickly summarising the results as well as the findings of your research. Enlighten the reader with precisely what your primary conclusion is, and why. Ensure you also have checked and formatted the work references that should go at the conclusion of the composition. An amazing essay writing tip would be to close the composition with a great, thought provoking assertion that somehow 'sums up' your conclusions.

These essay writing tips will encourage you to produce a well structured essay, but don't forget to edit as well as proof read your hard work methodically to be sure there are no spelling, grammatical or punctuation problems.

Five Steps to Quality Essay Writing

No two writers think alike. Everyone is unique. For the same reason, everyone has his own manner of using language. But as far as the science of essay writing is concerned, there are some general parameters to be followed. While writing an essay, certain tips will help you to make it an excellent one.

1. A Well Balanced Essay

Ideas should not be written in a Chaotic or disorganized manner. There must be an easy and automatic flow. You are not supposed to stop an essay in the middle of a hot issue. Proceed in such a way that each and every sentence must guide you to the conclusion. The beginning, the middle and the end must be crystal clear to the readers. How you begin, how you proceed and how you end up; all have equal importance in the assessment of an essay.

A well begun stuff pushes the readers to keep on reading it. Though the middle portion of the essay bears the essence of your topic, the conclusion is not of less importance. In short, each and every part of an essay is next to nothing.

2. Too Much is Too Bad

Never go for marathon writing. Essays must not be too long. It kills the grandeur of your work. Write the relevant points using minimum number of words which are apt and attractive. Though there are no strict rules governing the length of the essays, it is always desirable to finish it with 350 words. However you are free to break this unwritten law to a certain extent, considering the seriousness of your subject matter. A topic which requires much statements and explanations can take a little more length. But keep in mind the above said words; Too much is too bad.

3. Be up-to-the-minute

No need to mention the importance of 'knowledge chase' in the process of every type of writings. All findings start when you start finding the apt source. But don't be cheated by resources which are outdated. Be accurate in selecting the right assistance.

You can surpass your fellow students by attempting something new. Go for innovation in whatever field you indulge in. Any creative writing stuff can be made exceptional by clinging on to latest information on air. It shows that you are keeping the right pace with the world around.

4. Style par excellent

Don't use unnatural and unfamiliar words. An inclination to use these types of words seems to be made-up. A highly intricate language with full of unnecessary ornamentation leads the reader to finish reading from the middle. Use natural expressions in a novel way. Don't make sentences too complicated and too polished. Let them be interactive and conversing. Make it a thorough piece of objective one.

5. A flavor of personal touch

Study an issue from a number of possible angles. After finding creative assistance from experienced hands, add your own opinion. Give a personal touch to it. As far as your assignment is concerned, what others said is only secondary. An essay should not be a collection of the opinions of great writers and orators. There should be your stamp in it. Your own feelings and outlooks make the essay solely yours. Never be under the impression that you are second to somebody. Think that you are a person of importance. Crush the psychological barrier to include your individuality in your writings. Keep in mind; you are capable of doing anything great.

Custom Essay Writing - Should You Buy Essays Online?

Custom essay writing services are rampant on the web these days. Every time I turn around, it seems like there is a new website selling essays to unsuspecting college students around the world. These companies are unethical and doing their customers a major disservice.

Keep reading to find out why you should never pay money for an essay online.

Where do essay writing services get their essays? Although many of these companies would like you to believe that they are creating essays with a qualified team of writers, most of these so-called essay writing services actually outsource their writing to India and other countries. Think of it: someone in New Delhi is getting paid a few bucks an hour to write your college paper.

Why is it so bad to buy an essay that was produced in a foreign country? Besides the obvious waste of an opportunity to grow intellectually and the apparent waste of your college tuition, an essay written by a foreigner is simply not going to reflect the expectations of a college writing class in the United States.

Many custom essay writing services will also provide you with a finished document that is recycled from previously composed work for other customers. Some of these essays even get reproduced online and become easy for your instructor to catch and dismiss as simple plagiarism.

As a college writing instructor myself, I have found it very easy to identify essays that students either buy online or pay someone else to write. It is not difficult and often very obvious when it happens. I want to urge you to think twice (even three times) about making this error next time you think about skipping an assignment and finding an essay for sale on the web. Not only will you be throwing away your college education, you're also very likely to get caught!

Don't even think about buying an essay online! Instead, invest a little time reading my popular essay writing tips [] on [] today!

Top Essay Writing Dilemmas and Solutions

Essay writing is quite a dynamic task. It demands a lot of hard work and persistence to produce a quality composition. Every step in essay writing is crucial that's why essay writers often have a hard time finishing this complex and nerve- racking task.

Most writers encounter dilemmas in every stage of the entire essay writing process - from choosing a topic down to editing. Here are some common hindrances and easy solutions in creating top-rate essays.

Having an irrelevant or boring topic. It is a primary requirement in essay writing that the chosen subject to be discussed is exciting and relevant. Having a good topic to work on keeps the writing process enjoyable. Readers are also easily hooked with unique, thrilling and educating topics.

Solution: Read and observe. Check out for potential topics.

A weak thesis statement. Essays are written for the prime purpose of informing and persuading people. A thesis statement embodies the argument that the essay wants to prove. Having a weak and illogical argument makes the essay immaterial.

Solution: Don't use mere opinions and accepted facts as an argument rather, something that is debatable.

An inefficient opening paragraph. A dull lead paragraph pushes the readers away. Too long starting paragraph also pisses the readers off. An enticing lead grabs the readers' eyes to finish the entire article.

Solution: Use powerful words but not too much superlatives. Make it concise.

Lack of interest or understanding of the topic. A writer can never create a masterpiece without having sufficient knowledge on the topic. It can be very difficult to write about something that is unfamiliar. This leads to haphazardly-written works.

Solution: Choose a topic that excites interest. Do quality research about the topic.

Poorly researched evidence. Having irrelevant evidences or arguments makes reading an essay a waste of time for the readers. Poorly researched evidences prove nothing.

Solution: Look for credible and up-to-date research materials.

Inability to use evidence properly. Evidence doesn't always equate to a quality essay. It depends on how the evidence is used. Inability to use relevant evidence makes the proof useless.

Solution: Select only evidences that suit the argument and write them in a logical manner.

Inconsistent position on a subject. Coherence is the key to an excellent essay. Inconsistency of arguments on the selected topic is quite confusing for the readers.

Solution: Stick to a single point all throughout the essay.

Having a vague and illogical structure. An unorganized structure results to inability of the essay to communicate the ideas clearly to its readers.

Solution: Create an outline to arrange the ideas.

Bad command of grammar and punctuation. Writing is governed by set of rules. Inaccurate grammar and punctuations destroy the credibility of the essay even if it is brilliantly conceptualized.

Solution: Proofread and allow others to edit the draft.

Incorrect reference of sources of information. Inappropriate attribution of the key sources also makes the essay less convincing. Citing the references gives the readers an assurance that the essay is thoroughly researched.

Solution: List all references properly.

Essay writing offers a lot of challenges for the writer. It is a complex yet rewarding task. The only issue is whether or not the writer is up to the challenge.

Essay Writing

Essay writing is an indispensable part of academic life - something a student cannot overlook. Essay writing demands certain skills on the part of the writer. The term 'essay writing' is now more applied in the academic context, while essays are written by famous and upcoming essayists in the non-academic world as well. A well-written essay is proof of the writer's knowledge of a certain topic. Essay writing is a valuable tool for monitoring the skills of proper organization of ideas, good vocabulary, systematic argument and coherence of ideas.

Essay writing at the academic level requires a thorough knowledge of the primary sources dealt with. It is ideal to develop a system of note taking and carefully sorting the secondary sources referred to. Another significant aspect to note while writing an essay is to pay attention to the keyword, that is, whether one is asked to analyze, discuss, compare and contrast, criticize, define, discuss, evaluate, or illustrate. The style should be clear and should lay out a clear picture of the thesis statement. Lengthy sentences very often hinder smooth reading, as is the case with passive usages.

In essay writing, ideas should be distributed in an orderly fashion using paragraphs, preferably with evidence supporting the argument. Supporting evidence should be well documented in the desired citation style. It is important to avoid plagiarism of any kind while writing an essay and acknowledge the source whenever it is referred to. To get a good end product, the essay should be revised thoroughly. Diction and style are important aspects of an essay and are to be given special care. Wordiness is a defect to be avoided and it is absolutely necessary to proof read the essay upon completion to guarantee that it is error free.

Essay Writing For ESL Learners

If you have a choice of essay topics, then choose the one that is most interesting to you. If none of the topics interest you, then choose the topic that you think will be the easiest.

There are many different topics that form concepts as part of a course of study. When reading the list of essay questions/ topics you will know which one is the easiest and most interesting because it is the one that you remember after reading and found the easiest to read.

Analyse the essay topic's statement or question.

What are you required to do? Are you required to compare and contrast, explain, describe, argue or discuss. There are many of these types of verbs used in essay topic questions. You need to make sure you know what is required of each, because each one is different. If you don't know then ask your teacher to explain it to you. Ask for a sample essay or to see a past students essay.

Writing your essay.

There is no ONE way to write an essay. Everyone is different and every essay statement/ question is different. Here's what I like to do:

* Write down broad ideas- what I think I would like to write about in a general sense. Then from that I form bullet points and a rough draft of an introductory paragraph.

* I focus on the points on my introductory paragraph. Have I been succinct? Will the points flow into each other and make a logical order? Sometimes people try to write too much. I think about the word limit and what my priority points are (easiest points to write about and the points that answer the question most effectively).

* If the essay topic is difficult and I have very little idea about what to write, I still initially write out at least four or five points as well as an introductory paragraph that has buzz words from the essay topic. For instance, if the question said "describe blah blah"... I make sure that the word describe is in my introductory paragraph with such supporting sentences as "By looking at "a" it is clear that a description can be made about blah blah". Later on I find out what "a" is and insert that into my essay. (Markers want to see an introductory paragraph that addresses the topic statement/ question).

* Read and find relevant references. Don't think that you need to read the whole book or article. Just skim "control f" for key words and paragraphs that give you ideas. Or skim read, looking at the introductory and concluding paragraphs first to get the gist and see if it is worth your time reading. If it is an offline book, then use the glossary and look up chapter summaries. If you think the book or article isn't going to help your essay, then move on.

* How to find books and articles for essays? Look at reference lists of books and articles that your lecturer or teacher has suggested. If you are stuck, then ask your teacher and fellow students. If you like an article or book, then look at the reference lists in those articles or books for more ideas.

* Where people go wrong in PART 2 is that they spend too long reading and collecting references and they leave the writing of their essay until it is too late. Don't do that. Write as you read.

* Write paragraphs that expand on the topics you introduced as sentences in your introductory paragraph. Make sure your ideas are presented well so that you begin and end your paragraphs with thoughts. What I remind people is that a paragraph is the beginning of a new idea. BUT the ideas must flow nicely between each other. This is the tricky part of essay writing.

* Write your conclusion and make sure you add any critiques/ limitations as well as things for further research/ discussion. Most markers appreciate an essay written that admits research limitations. After all, you are a student with limited time and resources.

Essay Writing: An Art or Science?

Essay writing is an intricate and elaborate writing which involves deep insight, subject knowledge and command over language. Writing an essay is both an art and a science as it necessitates a perfect style of writing, following the basic rules and norms of language, grammar, sentence composition and parallel to it, is an art of presenting ideas and thoughts in a coherent manner which makes a meaningful impression on the reader by its very relevant portrayal of thoughts over the topic. Science is a systemized body of knowledge. It relates to the facts and figures which can never be falsified and have universal applications. It comprises of an enriched subject matter which is tested, qualified and experimented over the years to give it a concrete form.

Essay writing revolves around two aspects of topic. One is the core element of the topic and the other is the relevance and the implication of the topic on the environment. The core of the topic relates to the scientific element of the essay writing. Any topic can be studied and interpreted well only if the basic facts and core elements are interpreted correctly. Writing an essay involves a wide spectrum of social, political, economic, anthropological, sociological psychological and demographic topics, which can be studied and interpreted only if the writer is knowledgeable about these subjects. Thus the element of science in essay writing lays down the important foundation, without which an essay would simply be an outer cover without much content and deep insight. Once the core issues are studied, the writer is tested on his/her writing skills.

This forms the 'art' element of essay writing, where personal experience, education, environment and thought process have great significance in writing an essay. Any topic can be comprehended in several different ways. This comprehension lies in the personal attitude of the writer. A topic could be interpreted in a sarcastic tone, thereby writing the essay in sarcasm would be the tone of the writer. Similarly if the writer has witnessed sorrow, pain, suffering, death and melancholy from close, the essay would surely have an outlook with a sympathetic gesture. Thus the treatment of the topic would surely depend upon the writer's intent and background, which becomes the 'art' of writing an essay in an impressive way so that the readers get inspired or moved by the writers words. Essay writing thus comprises both the elements of 'science' and 'art'.

On one hand it involves the scientific interpretation of the topic, necessitating a vast knowledge of the subject so that the essay conveys the intended message; on the other hand it involves an intricate element of "art" which gives a soul to the essay, by conveying the thoughts in such a way that the readers have a powerful impact and are forced to think over the criticality of the subject dealt with such poise, expertise and maturity.

If the essay would have purely written on the basis of facts it would simply have become a factual report without involving the human psyche to rethink over the subtle issues. It is only a perfect combination of art and science that can make an essay a meaningful composition.

They do not get enough time to think about developing a good essay writing skill.

However, with the advent of technology, things have become quite easy for students. The online essay writing services educate the students how to write a good essay.

Consider these simple steps and become a professional essay writer:

1. Consider essay as a process and not a task bounded with deadlines. You have to consider reading, thinking, planning and organizing your thoughts. You have to understand the topic and study about the topic. Primary research is very important before drafting your thoughts. Once you are finished with research process, start thinking creatively about the topic and make notes or pointers, which will help you during documentation process.

2. The blank screen or paper in front of you while drafting essay is the most difficult part of the process. You must sketch out a plan before writing. Once you have written down your points, start assembling these points. Give each point a logical heading; this will help you to elaborate your points. These will later develop into paragraphs of your essay.

The most important subheads will include:

An introduction, which will explain the sources of your study

Main body, which is an analysis of your topic. It will include the opinions, comments and findings. You can quote about some scientific research or media studies.

Conclusion is where you force the reader to accept your points. You can conclude with quotes or even end with a question that will boggle reader's mind.

All these points will give you an outline to your essay writing. Do not stick to one point. This makes the reader disinterested in your writing.

3. Your correct English is the most compelling part of essay writing. Use simple but correct English. Your essay may not be flowery in writing but must have substance in the subject. If it is argumentative, you must collect enough data to make it genuine. To improve on these points you must read many editorial sections from magazines or newspapers.

4. Try to make a rough draft of your essay before submission. You must read it aloud and look for any changes if required. If your essay is long or it is a dissertation, you must prepare small drafts of paragraphs and then try to focus on each paragraph. Try to make pointers on these paragraphs, which will help you during the assembly of all paragraphs. Do not lose track of your point or argument. In case if you are lost, refer to points.

5. Essays are small samples of knowledge. You cannot elaborate on an endless discussion. You must give it a strong voice and back up with supportive arguments and discussions. The essay must invoke reader's thought process. Keep everything in moderation. Do not lose your focus.

Essay is an array of thoughts and ideas. Right alignment of thought process with strong command over English develops a person from good essay writer to professional essay writer.

College Essay Writing Tips

Prior to writing your essay, you should make an outline of what you will be talking about. An outline will help you layout and organize your thoughts. Many people like to do outlines on paper. I prefer to use an app I found for my iPad which allows me to rearrange the different parts of my planned essay.

My favorite college essay writing tip is using free flow writing. Sometimes I get really "plugged" in the head and am not sure what to write about. I find that if I start typing anything that pops into my head, the road block is cleared and soon words related to the essay are flowing nicely.

The essay writing process is a much worse if you are writing about a topic that you have little or no interest in. In cases like these, one of my favorite college essay writing tips is to look to the internet to research my topic. I try to read about the background of the topic with the hope of finding an aspect of the topic that interests me. When I find something interesting about the topic, I zero in on that and focus my essay writing on that aspect. It does help to make the process a bit less painful.

The best thing to do, however, is to try to approach writing with an open mind and not see it as a nightmare. You'll soon find different aspects and topics of writing that are enjoyable to you and the pain of writing a college essay will fade away.
